The BSEC Permit has entered into force in 7 BSEC Member States

16 February 2010 | Today, on 16th of February, in Istanbul, a special event organized by TOBB took place on the occassion of entry into force of the BSEC Permit. Seven BSEC Member States, namely Albania, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Turkey are participating in a Pilot Project within a framework of which the 1,400 BSEC Permits have been printed and distributed to the Participating Member States.

The President of the BSEC-URTA Mr. Vladimir Florea participated in this event and delivered a speech. “I am very confided that the BSEC Permit will be a successful project, which will be developed in the short future by joining of other BSEC Member States and enlarging its actual scope by admitting loading and unloading operations and extending the usage from 1 journey to multiple journeys over 1 calendar year. In fact what I mean is transformation of the BSEC Transit Permit into a BSEC Regional license similar in nature with the ECMT license”, - he said.
The BSEC Permit is a milestone in the facilitation of road transport of goods and for the gradual liberalization of transport market in the region being a great achievement of the BSEC-URTA Member Associations. Mr. Florea said: “I am happy for our success and in this regard please allow me to thank Mr. Mete and Mr. Dinçşahin for their work and continuous support for this achievement. Special thanks to H. E. Ambassador Leonidas Chrysantoupoulos, the Secretary General of BSEC Organization, for understanding our problems, trust and believe in us. We all very well know, Your Excellency that without your determination and continuous support the BSEC Permit would be only a dream of us.”

Other speeches were delivered by the Deputy Seretary General of TOBB Mr. Ali Emre Yurdakul, IRU General Delegate for Middle East Mr. Haydar Ozkan, the President of UND Mr. Tamer Dinçşahin, the Secretary General of BSEC Organization H.E. Ambassador Leondaz Chrysantoupoulos and the Representative of Ministry of Transport of Turkey Mr. Veli Atılgan.

Mr. Florea presented them special tokens with the sample of the BSEC Permit. Then a special ceremony of delivering the first BSEC Permit to a turkish transport company “Barsan” was held.
