25 June 2010 | The 17th meeting of the BSEC-URTA General Assembly was held in Tbilisi, Georgia, on 22 June 2010, being hosted by the BSEC-URTA Member Association from Georgia, the GIRCA, with the participation of the IRU Secretary General Mr. Martin Marmy, PABSEC Vice-Chairman Mr. George Goguadze, Deputy Head of United Transport Administration of Georgia Mr. Genrikh Muradiani.

The BSEC-URTA General Assembly evaluated the progress made with respest to the BSEC-URTA Priorities for 2010, such as the BSEC Agreement on Simplification of Visa Procedures for Professional Drivers, the BSEC Permit, the BSEC Licence and the International Vehicle Weight Certificate. In particular, it was stressed that the BSEC Permit should be further developed allowing in addition to transit journeys, bilateral road transport of goods and empty entrance of trucks. In this regard, a special joint delegation between the TOBB, the UND and the BSEC-URTA International Secretariat is to be set up in order to receive the support of authorities in Turkey concerning the development of this Permit.
